World Oceans Day-2020 Online Celebrations

World Oceans Day with UN theme “Innovation for a Sustainable Ocean” was celebrated online at Multani Mal Modi College Patiala by Department of Botany and Zoology. An online caption writing competition was planned for the students of B.Sc. Medical. The competition focused to make students aware for the sustainable use of oceans.
In the competition, 28 students participated with full enthusiasm. The students gave their views for the theme Innovation for a Sustainable Ocean in the form of caption writing. Harsimran Kaur of B.Sc.-III Medical bagged first position with caption “I am kind but global warming made me angry“, while the second position was secured by Simran Mittal of B.Sc. II Medical with caption “The voice of the sea speaks to the soul”. Jasleen Kaur of B.Sc.-I Medical stood 3rd in this competition with the caption “Yes, you betrayed our friendship”. College Principal Dr. Khushwinder Kumar, congratulated all the students for their active participation and appreciated the efforts of all the faculty members. Head of Department, Dr. Ashwani Sharma has motivated the faculty members to conduct such event in the future also. He also congratulated the winners of the competition.
